Best Of Beauty | Brushes 2016

I believe that brushes are the most important factor in achieving a good makeup application. If you have not tapped into adding makeup brushes to your routine, stop now! I wouldn’t purchase another cosmetic product. As extra spending money becomes available or with each paycheck, invest in a brush or two. Get comfortable using the brushes and watch your makeup application transform. Continue this, until you have the proper brushes for each makeup product you use. Let me also say – there are some ‘exceptional’, affordable brushes on the market. You can find these at places like Walgreen, CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart, Target, your local grocery store and Ulta.

  1. FOUNDATION: Chanel
  2. UNDER EYE: e.l.f. / Bare Escentuals / Beauty Blender (mini)
  3. SETTING POWDER: Beauty Blender / Target
  4. UNDER EYE SETTING POWDER:Beauty Blender (mini) / Sephora Airbrush
  5. BRONZER / CONTOUR: Bare Escentuals / NARS ‘Ita’

  1.  BASE COLOR ON THE LID TO GET STARTED (over primer): Sigma E40
  2. CREASE BRUSHES (VARIETY): Different brushes are used for this application, according to what I am trying to achieve: Sigma E25 / Sephora Crease Sonia Kashuk Crease
  3. LID BRUSH: Sigma E55
  4. OUTER V (VARIETY): MAC 219 / Sigma E36 I also use 2 drugstore makeup brushes by ‘Studio M’. They are the brushes with the red handles (below). I could not find them on-line to link. I purchase these brushes at a store called ‘Meijer’. Meijer is only located in a few states. The store is comparable to a ‘Wal-mart’ or ‘Super Target’.
  5. BROWS: MUFE 274

To see some of these brushes put to use, check out my ‘Smokey Party Eye Makeup Tutorial’, here .

  1. LIPS: Real Techniques Japonesque

Everything that I am wearing in the picture above is old, except for the black ring. The ring is available and can be purchased, here. There is also a similar one, here.

The day that I took this picture, I had a lot of people ask me (on Snapchat) about my lip combo. Here it is:

LIP PENCIL: Essence ‘Satin Mauve’. If you look better in warm tones, MAC ‘Spice’ looks great with this combo | LIPSTICK: Rimmel Kate ’08’ | LIPSTICK TOPPER: Buxom ‘Marrakech’ | LIP GLOSS: MAC Prrr

If you would like me to do a Youtube video showing where and how I use each of the brushes, please let me know in the comment section below. Stay tuned, coming up is my ‘Best of Beauty – Eyes’. What are some of your favorite makeup brushes?

I would love a tutorial on applying foundation. I have not had much luck with brushes and I am sure it’s because I am not using proper technique. I love all of your tutorials and I am so happy you are on Youtube, it was so difficult trying to watch and take notes on Snap, lol, but I did!

Thanks for the feedback Kellyann! I will certainly be happy to oblige and do a foundation application video. I understand the difficulty with Snapchat. It is nice to have videos to reference back to.
